Lumson, a leader in the manufacturing of primary packaging, integrated dispensing solutions and airless systems, has announced new airless designs focusing on sustainability. The supplier also discusses the importance of airless packaging -- especially since the COVID-19 crisis.
Matteo Moretti, president, Lumson, says, "After the Coronavirus emergency, packaging as a means of protecting the product from contamination or deterioration will become increasingly more important in the cosmetic world.
Moretti continues, It will have to guarantee the safety and integrity of the bulk it contains and for this reason, there will be a considerable increase in demand for ‘touchless’ solutions and airless systems that avoid possible product contamination risk.”
The team at Lumson combines design, safety, and sustainability in its three new additions to its 'touchless' family of packages, which already includes APP (Airless Plastic Packaging) and TAG (Techno Airless Glass).
Lumson's three new airless additions for 2020 are ENVERS (in plastic and glass), TAL, and JAIRLESS. See more about each below.
New for 2020: ENVERS
Compact, ergonomic, and minimalist, ENVERS is "a streamlined, minimalist design," Lumson states. Beginning in September, ENVERS, which is already available in plastic, will be offered as a luxury airless solution made using a combination of glass and plastic.
It offers all the technical and functional advantages of an airless system, including infinite personalization possibilities. "It is the perfect solution for anyone looking for technology, innovation, and sustainability," the brand states. It is available in 30mL and 40mL sizes.
New for 2020: JAIRLESS
Jairless, shown above, is Lumson's new revolutionary airless glass jar -- and it represents a new way to dispense, the supplier says. "The elegant and sophisticated jar is the perfect solution for brands that are looking for exclusivity and luxury with a focus on sustainability," states Lumson.
Jairless, available in 50mL, has a thick bottom and incorporated pump system that allows for dispensing of the product with a simple push on the overshell -- introducing a completely new dispensing mode. It is "immediate, simple, and pleasurable," states the team at Lumson.
New for 2020: TAL
TAL (Techno Airless Aluminum) is the first airless in aluminum with a pouch that does not use propellants or compressed air. "It is innovative, versatile and sustainable," Lumson states.
Aluminum is light and eco-friendly. "It can be infinitely recycled without any alterations to its qualities," the company states. Personalization options allow for infinite finishes and decorations, from luxury versions with metallization effects -- to versions that are “greener” with satin or brushed effects.
TAL is ideal for face & body products, and is available in 3 sizes: 50, 75, and 100mL.
Touchless Packaging is the Future
Lumson's airless and dispensing systems have always been the company’s main focus which, together with its offerings of bottles, jars, and accessories created in different materials, offer integrated and personalized solutions.
The supplier's airless system provides several advantages, including:
- Protects the products from contact with the air, avoiding any possible microbial and environmental contamination
- Reduces the risk of oxidation and external contamination with the product
- Ensures dispensing of the entire quantity of the product
- Suitable for all types of formulas
- Guarantees consistent product dosing
Lumson's Touchless with Pouch system is based on four principles:
- Maintenance of product purity and integrity (patented by Lumson)
- Ability to separate different materials, allowing for the various components of the packaging to be recycled appropriately
- Gradual deflation of the pouch as product is dispensed until it is completely finished
- The pouch is available in mono or multi-layers according to the product type and viscosity
